Junior Class Information

Junior Counselor/Student/Parent conferences

Beginning in January Chelsea High School counselors meet with current high school juniors for 20 minute individual appointments with parents and students. Counselors focus on senior class selections and career/college goals. Students are highly encouraged to attend with parents.

PARENT/COUNSELOR CONFERENCES FOR CLASS OF 2025

Chelsea High School Counselors will be available for individual 20 minute appointments with parents of the current high school Juniors in January 2024. 
Counselors will focus on senior class selections and career/ college goals. 
Students are welcome to attend with parents.

LOCATION: Chelsea High School Counseling Office

DATES/TIMES:  
     Thursday, January  25th  ~   3:45 pm - 7:00 pm (CHS PT Conferences are also this date)
          **Mr. Mann, counselor for students last name A-G, will not be available on this date)
     Tuesday, February 20th ~   1:00 pm - 8:00 pm
     Wednesday, February 22nd ~   1:00 pm - 8:00 pm


Parents will be able to sign up to discuss their student's senior year

Standardized Testing in Junior Year

  • PSAT/NMSQT (Chelsea High School offers to Juniors in October of each year)  
    This test is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test 
    Students must register and are responsible for the CollegeBoard PSAT/NMSQT test fee.    Register here for the PSAT

    If you are planning on attending college, we encourage you to take this test to:
          •   Get feedback about critical academic skills
          •   Enter scholarship competitions
         
    •   Lessen test anxiety 
          •   Prepare for the SAT

  • The Michigan Merit Exam (MME) assesses students in grade 11 and eligible students in grade 12 based on Michigan high school standards. The MME is administered each spring, and consists of three components:

•   College Board SAT® with Essay Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math
•   ACT® WorkKeys® job skills assessment Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and
    Workplace Documents
•   M-STEP Science and Social Studies
