FINANCIAL AID 101 ~ an annual CHS presentation for parents of Juniors and Seniors in the fall.
FINANCIAL AID 101 is an annual presentation for parents of juniors and seniors that will provide a basic understanding of state and federal student aid programs as well as other sources of financial aid that can help make higher education more affordable for families.
WHEN: Tuesday November 14th at 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Chelsea High School Media Center
PRESENTER:
Seniors planning to attend college and who plan to apply for financial aid need to file the FAFSA (Federal Application for Financial Aid)
FAFSA COMPLETION WORKSHOP ~ (hands on workshop to assist completing the FAFSA form)
- FAFSA COMPLETION WORKSHOP will provide parents and students the opportunity to complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Staff from the Michigan Department of Treasury will be on hand to walk you through the application, answer questions, and provide individual assistance.
- All students considering pursuing college or a trade or certificate program should complete a FAFSA each year they attend school.
- Completion of the FAFSA determines a student's eligibility to receive federal student aid.
- Think you don't qualify? Many colleges require students to fill out the FAFSA to qualify for merit-based scholarships.

- Social Security Number (Student and Parent)
- Driver's License Number (if you have one)
- Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen
- Federal tax returns (two-years prior to current academic year), W-2's, and other records of money earned (Student and Parent)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable)
