LAST SCHEDULE CHANGE WINDOW
The last Schedule Change Window for the 25-26 school year opens on Monday, 11/24, and will close on Monday, 12/1. CHS students, along with their parents and guardians, received an email with instructions on Wednesday, 11/19. Schedule changes are requested via this Google Form: https://bit.ly/2yn3irr. Refer back to the email for instructions and the master schedule. Please remember that your student committed to these classes when they input their selections into the computer last February and again in the spring, when they saw their schedule.
Therefore, to request a change in their schedule, they must present a valid, educational reason.
Examples of Educational Reasons:
-
Career plans have changed
-
Injury/Health issues – documentation may be requested by your counselor
-
Received a C- or below in a previous class in the department
-
Failed another class with this teacher
-
There is a hole in your schedule
Examples of Unacceptable Reasons:
-
Want the same lunch as friends
-
Want the same class as friends
-
No longer “interested” in taking this class
-
Do not like/want this teacher
-
Need 5th hour PE so don’t have to go back to class all sweaty or have a sport activity
-
In a class with all underclassmen/upperclassmen
-
Want to postpone a required class until the following year
-
Want to drop academic classes to take electives as an “easy way” out
-
Class/Teacher is “boring/lame”
-
Want an easier schedule/class is too hard
CHS CAREER DAY 2025
The annual Chelsea High School Career Day will take place on Tuesday, December 9th. Students registered for three sessions via their MINGA app on Tuesday, November 18th. Counselors are tracking students who have not signed up yet and are helping them to register. Parents, please take this opportunity to ask your student which three careers they signed up for. These conversations can help students to explore and think about their future.
SAT SCORE
Seniors, did you retake the SAT and earn a higher score? Then, you need to email Mrs. Kay the score report from your College Board Account. akay@chelseaschools.org
Next Steps for Seniors
-
Complete the FAFSA - see Blog from the Week of 10/20/25 through 10/24/25 for instructions.
-
Follow all communications from the colleges you applied to. They will email you at the email address you used on the Common App. They will let you know if you have been accepted, and if you have, they will ask you to set up an account with their university portal; this is where you will receive information about your financial aid package
-
Information about Financial aid packages is typically released in February or March. Compare your financial aid offer letters.
-
Once you select a college (the deadline to do so is May 1st, 2026), pay the deposit, and follow their checklist: apply for housing, attend orientation, etc.
-
In May, Ms Kay will send you instructions for ordering your final official high school transcript. You need to send this transcript (it will go out at the end of June) or the university will prevent you from registering for your classes in the fall.
Thank you for staying up to date with these important announcements. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Counseling Office with any questions: (734) 433-2243.
