Juniors and parents of juniors, please note that the PSAT/NMSQT test score reports are available to pick up in the counseling office.
This week counselors have been busy meeting with students who indicated an interest in participating in counseling groups. We are setting up groups for next trimester.
Counselors presented classroom lessons to juniors in their US History A sections this week. Topics included:

Reviewing how to log in to Naviance

Working on Educational Development Plans in Naviance by taking the Career Interest Profiler assessment.

Career exploration based on the assessment results

Learning about college exploration tools in Naviance and starting a “Colleges I’m Thinking About” list

Learning about college visits, both at CHS and on college campuses

Logging into their College Board Account after taking the PSAT/NMSQT test, so they will be ready to view their score report when available.

Resources for SAT preparation
Next week on Thursday the principal of the South West Washtenaw Consortium will be here to present our Career and Technical Education program opportunities to all 10th grade students in the CHS auditorium during Bulldog Block.
The following colleges are visiting CHS next week:

The University of Alabama on Tuesday November 12th at 1:40 pm
Students register for visits through their Naviance account. Once students register, they will receive a pass on the morning of the visit.
The US Coast Guard Academy will be in the counseling career room during all three lunches on Thursday November 12th. Interested students can stop by during their lunch.
Peer 2 Peer met this week in the counseling office. The Bulldog Mentors met on Thursday to plan a bulldog block event with students (10th - 12th grade) who are new to the district. It will take place next week on Tuesday. Mentors will talk about the upcoming exams and tips for preparing and getting help.
We continue to support students who are experiencing mental health crises and to help parents and students with academic concerns.
