Wellness Day
Next week, on Wednesday, March 11, CHS will host its annual Wellness Day, organized by Kristen Chandler - Project Success Coordinator, and Marie Larson - District Mental Health Coordinator. Students signed up for three sessions via the MINGA app on their I-PAD. Ask your students which sessions they chose? CHS counselors will be presenting the following:

Trimester change
Trimester 2 ends today, Friday, March 6th. Transcripts will be updated by Monday, March 16th.
If you need a transcript, please email your student’s counselor.
Counselors will meet with students who failed a class in trimester 2 to discuss options for credit recovery (if it was a required course).

Counselors visited freshmen in the B section of Freshman Fitness this past week. The rest of the freshmen will update their EDPs in trimester 3, during Freshman Fitness B.
Counselors visited sophomores in the B section of English during trimester 2. The rest of the sophomores will update their EDPs in trimester 3, during English 10 B/Honors English 10 B.
Scheduling
We would like to remind students and parents that there are no more scheduling changes for this year. There were three opportunities to change the students’ schedules this year: one in May/June 2025 when they received their schedule, one at the beginning of the school year 25-26, and the final one at the end of trimester 1. This was advertised and announced in multiple ways. Please do not request to change your trimester 3 schedule unless there is an emergency or a very serious concern.
For the year 26-27, students have submitted their course request sheets, signed by a parent. Counselors are currently working on following up with students who need forms, and fixing any issues and mistakes. The master schedule for 26-27 has not been created yet.
Seniors
Making final decisions. Seniors should check their financial aid packages from the colleges they applied to and weigh the pros and cons. They need to communicate a decision to the colleges by May 1st. Colleges communicate directly with your seniors through the email they used to apply/their applicant portal, which they set up after applying. Follow all checklists from the college for next steps:
-
Pay a deposit
-
Apply for housing
-
Sign Up for Orientation
-
Remember to request a final transcript to be sent to the college you will attend. Mrs. Kay will send directions in May for how to request a final transcript in Parchment. If a final transcript is not sent to the college, they will not allow your student to register for classes in the fall.
Groups
Our Peer 2 Peer and SAGA students meet weekly. We are currently running a DBT group and a CBT group about anxiety and depression to support our students. If you have a mental health concern for your student, please reach out to the assigned counselor for assistance:
